The bride may no longer be mounted on a camel or carry her wedding chest to her new home, but traces of the old ways continue, as in Leilit il Henna. The social customs and considerations involved in selecting a marriage partner, as well as the customs attendant at the wedding were vividly described by Hilma Granqvist, the Finnish Anthropologist who studied the village in Mandate times.
