Bethlehem – The Bell Tower of the Orthodox Church of Nativity

Contributed by Fayez (Frank) Nasser on 01.11.2007:

The Bell Tower of the Orthodox Church of the Nativity is one of the most known landmarks not only in Bethlehem, but also worldwide. Since ancient times, it appears in drawings, paintings and photographs. Seldom it is featured by itself, but always in connection with the Church. It might be as old as a thousand years, yet I could not find any specific data that describes its long history. It would be nice if some local historian would spend some time to do some research on the subject, and share it with the rest of the world. That would be a worthy project for students to undertake. Original Content Creator: Fayez (Frank) Nasser / Toronto, Canada
